Are students paid during placements?
Placements that are a required part of a student's course are vocational placements under the Fair Work Act and can be unpaid. Hosts may still choose to offer a stipend.
Who pays for InternLink's services?
Our services are contracted by the education provider. Host employers do not pay to take a student.
Can international students take part?
Yes. Before a placement starts we confirm it is a compulsory work component of the student's CRICOS-registered course, so it fits the student's visa conditions.
Which disciplines do you cover?
All disciplines, across higher education and vocational courses, from business and IT to engineering, construction and community services.
Who is responsible for insurance?
Students are normally covered by their education provider's student placement insurance. We confirm cover for each cohort and hold our own public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
